Irwin C. Mang, age 88, of Marcellus, MI passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He lived his entire life on his family farm in Volinia Township.
He was born April 29, 1925 the son of Christian and Blanche D. (Fox) Mang. On June 4, 1949 in Marcellus he married Ruth Morris who preceded him in death.
Irwin graduated from Marcellus High School in 1943. He farmed for over 30 years on his own farm and several other area farms. He also had sold cars for Dreisbach, Benincasa, and Springsteen car dealerships. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Cass County Council on Aging. After retirement he worked for the Mater Funeral Home.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen (Timothy) Spruill of Orlando, FL and one son, Errol Mang of Marcellus; two grandchildren, Zach (Eileen) Spruill, Lauren (Sid) Li and one great-grandchild, Isaiah Spruill all of Orlando, Fl and his special friend Winona Johnson of Marcellus.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday, April 27, 2014 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus and Monday, April 28, 2014 from Noon to 1:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 28, 2014 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Marcellus Cemetery.
