Man arrested for incident

A Three Rivers man was arrested last weekend following a breaking-and-entering incident in Cass County.

Cass County Sheriff Joe Underwood Jr. said the incident occurred at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at a residence on Pioneer Road in Marcellus Township.

Underwood said the victims reported a suspicious vehicle outside their residence. When they went outside to check on the situation, 36-year-old Jami Land and an accomplice exited the house as well. Following a confrontation, Land and his accomplice drove from the scene after one of the victims was forcibly moved from the front of the vehicle in which Land and his accomplice were riding.

A license plate number provided to police helped investigators find and arrest Land. His accomplice, however, remains at large.

Land was charged with breaking and entering, and assault with a deadly weapon. He was arraigned in District Court in Cassopolis, where he remains jailed with bond set at $10,000.
