Successful 45th Michigan Magic Day

Organizers of the 45th Michigan Magic Day, staged over the weekend in Colon, hailed the event as a success.

The annual gathering marked the first time Colon has hosted the event, which drew more than 100 magicians to activities Friday and Saturday. Ron Carnell, a member of the Colon-based International Brotherhood of Magicians 386, said a Saturday morning magic competition and a Saturday night public performance drew hundreds of people to Colon High School.

Kevin James was the featured talent at Saturday night’s five-act program.

Between shows Saturday, the magicians had private workshops and events related to their industry.

Carnell said a social gathering Friday at the Colon American Legion provided a casual opportunity for the group to socialize and catch up.
