Three arrested for meth

Three people were arrested Wednesday in Flowerfield Township on methamphetamine-related charges.

Investigators from the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit executed two search warrants on Floating Bridge Road, which culminated a several-week investigation.

The search warrant was for the arrest of a wanted fugitive. The fugitive, a 19-year-old Indiana resident, was wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Sturgis and larceny of firearms in Three Rivers.

Officers also had received tips about the distribution of methamphetamine from that location.

The search warrants were executed using the sheriff department’s Special Response Team, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s deputies, and SCAN members. The fugitive was located, along with a 30-year-old male, and a 32-year-old female, who were taken into custody without incident and lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail.

Once inside, officers located several grams of methamphetamine along with components used in the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine. Charges include operating and maintaining a methamphetamine lab, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house.
