Three finalists for Colon

A trio of finalists for the superintendent’s job at Colon Community Schools will be interviewed this evening.

Victor Bungi, Drew Bordner and Mike Corey were selected last week from a field of seven prospects to undergo second interviews and site visits. The first of the three interviews will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Colon High School’s media center.

Site visits to the communities of each of the three finalists have been discussed but dates have not yet been set.

Bungi, of Gladstone, is curriculum and instruction supervisor for the Delta/Scholcraft Intermediate School District in the Upper Peninsula.

Bordner, a Richland resident, is director of curriculum and instruction for Gull Lake Community Schools.

Corey, of Mesick, is superintendent of Mesick Public Schools.

The new superintendent, whose base salary will range between $95,000 and $105,000, is expected to be hired by the end of April.
