Two St. Joseph County school board members earned awards from the Michigan Association of School Boards.
Pete Bennett of Three Rivers Community Schools and Sally Boeschenstein of the St. Joseph County Intermediate School District were recognized for their efforts to improve leadership skills, and demonstrate their commitment to student achievement and their own continuous improvement.
Awards are earned for classes completed in MASB’s leadership training program, as well as for conference attendance, years of service and leadership activities.
Bennett has been bestowed the award of distinction, while Boeschenstein has been recognized for being a certified board member and was issued an award of merit.
MASB officials said the training and professional development helps board members to keep pace with the fast-moving and complex changes in education.
