Yovonda Marie Crossgrove, age 54, of White Pigeon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Borgess Medical Center. She was born on June 12, 1959 in Wellsville, New York the daughter of Robert and Vivian (Tanner) Payne.
On Oct. 7th, 1989 Yovonda was united in marriage to Mr. Samuel Crossgrove. Together they raised their two daughters in the Constantine and White Pigeon area. Yovonda was a faithful and active member of the Constantine Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband, playing cards, and shopping with her friends and family. She especially loved her children and grandchildren.
Yovonda was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Vicky (Payne) Creech.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband, Samuel Crossgrove, of White Pigeon; mother, Vivian Payne of South Whitley, IN; two daughters, Jennifer (Crossgrove) Byrd, of Huntsville, TN. And Melinda (Charles) Bowers, of Constantine. Siblings, David Payne, Bridget (Terry) Smith, Chris (Amy) Payne, Jeff Payne, and Robert (Vicky) Payne. Six grandchildren, Caleb, Haylie, Dakota, Taylon, Savanah, and Abigayle; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Rev. Rudy Grantham officiating
Interment will follow at Madison Lake Cemetery.
