Attempting a world-record

A world-record attempt will be made this summer in Colon.

During the 2014 Abbottt’s Magic Get-Together in August, an attempt will be made to break the Guinness World record for most magicians in a single magic show.

Colon resident Kelly Pucci, who is an organizer of the Aug. 6 attempt, said the current record is 106 magicians set by a group in Germany two years ago. Rules stipulate each participant must perform separately and the act must last at least 60 seconds.

Meanwhile, Pucci said Sen. Carl Levin has accepted an invitation to attend the event. At Levin’s request, an invitation was also extended to his grandchildren.

A letter of support from Lance Burton has been issued and a venue has been donated by Abbott Magic’s Greg and Deb Bordner.

This year’s Magic Get-Together is Aug. 6-9.
