The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners has agreed to allow alcohol during a fundraiser staged next month by the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce.
During Tuesday’s commission meeting, county administrator Pat Yoder said the chamber is staging its second annual Treasures of St. Joseph County in July at Rawson’s King Mill Park in Leonidas Township.
As it did last year when the inaugural event took place on the Langley Covered Bridge, the chamber would like to offer wine and tap beer.
The county’s Parks and Recreation Board has recommended the exemption be awarded.
Yoder said he looked into the county’s liability and confirmed everything will be worked out with the chamber.
The event is scheduled for July 26.
