Donald Chucta, age 83, of Jones, MI passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014.
He was born July 15, 1930 in Chicago, IL the son of Michael and Anna (Hlivyak) Chucta. On March 7, 1953 he married Elizabeth G. Keinhenz who preceded him in death in 1992.
He was a Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War and enjoyed telling stories about his military service and the traveling he and his wife Betty did.
Surviving are three sons, Charles (Pam Carpenter) Chucta of Kalamazoo, MI, David Chucta of Marcellus, MI and Steven (Sheila) Chucta Galena, Ohio; sister-in-law Phyllis Chucta also of Ohio; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 P.M. Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Poe’s Cemetery, Jones, MI with Military Rites by the Marcellus V.F.W. Post 4054. Memorial donations may be directed to the Marcellus V.F.W. Post 4054.
