Suspects in more than a dozen residential break-ins in a three-county region have been arrested, capping a seven-month investigation.
St. Joseph County Undersheriff Mark Lillywhite said four people have been arrested and warrants for seven additional suspects are being sought. The cases stem from incidents in St. Joseph, Branch and Kalamazoo counties.
Guns, money, jewelry and electronics are among the items recovered by law-enforcement officials.
Authorities said evidence was collected at several homes in Sturgis, Mendon, Three Rivers and White Pigeon, allowing officers to tie suspects to the crimes. A white pickup truck appears to have been a common link to the crimes, police said.
Lillywhite credited cooperation among Three Rivers, Sturgis, state police and the sheriff ’s office with solving the crimes.
