White Pigeon Township resident Vickie Schroen is $5,000 richer after she was the winner in Saturday’s Cow-Poo-Looza III at Central Elementary.
The $20 ticket she bought just hours before the start of the event proved to be the entry that coordinated with the square on which a cow defecated. The action took place about 10 minutes after the cow, named Miracle, was unloaded from her trailer and onto the school playground.
The cow roamed a grid of 500 2-by-2-foot squares. Schroen was the winner after the coordinates matched the square on which the Holstein did her business.
Schroen said she will use the winnings on airfare for herself, husband and three grandchildren, as her 12-year-old granddaughter will be competing in a national cheerleading competition in Las Vegas this summer
Central Parents Organization was the recipient of proceeds from the event.
