Coach named to Hall of Fame

Mendon High School volleyball coach Kathy Trenary has been selected as a member of the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association 2014 Hall of Fame class.

Trenary, who has held the position in Mendon for 19 years, is one of three in the 2014 class. The ceremony will take place July 25 at McCamly Plaza Hotel in Battle Creek.

According to the association, candidates must have at least 20 years of high school coaching experience or 500 career wins. Candidates must also demonstrate leadership and commitment to the sport.

Trenary has a career record of 902 wins and 426 losses, which includes her years as coach at Colon High School. She was named Michigan Volleyball Coach of the Year by the National Federation of High School Athletic Associations for the 2013 season.
