Dorothy Holm, 87

Dorothy Joy Holm, age 87, of rural Three Rivers died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Three Rivers Health.  She was born in Three Rivers on Feb. 2, 1927 the daughter of Levi and Flossie (Heckelman) Soule. After graduating from Three Rivers High School she was married to Francis E. “Bud” Holm on March 21, 1946. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked at Newberry’s Department Store in Three Rivers. She was a member of the Ninth Street United Methodist Church and loved to help people by volunteering at the Food Pantry and the Soup Pot. Dorothy is survived by three sons, John (Harriet) Holm of Roanoke, VA, Jim (Ronda) Holm of Constantine, and Jack Holm of Ft. Wayne, IN; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Warren Soule of Centreville; and two sisters, Virginia Edgerly of Dowagiac and Ruth Mader of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bud on Feb. 29, 1984; and by two brothers, Cleon Soule and George Soule.

Cremation has been conducted. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Ninth Street United Methodist Church in Three Rivers. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Jim Stillwell officiating. It is suggested that Memorials be directed to a food pantry in your community.
