Evelyn Harman, 91

Evelyn M. Harman, age 91, of Union, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in South Bend, Indiana on November 8, 1922, a daughter of Ira and Mary (Mendenhall) O’Shea. On March 16, 1968 she married Bill Harman in Nappanee, IN. Together Evelyn and Bill owned and operated Evies Tasty Freeze in Union, MI., from 1969 to 1979. She also worked at the Sally Swiss Restaurant in Elkhart. Evelyn loved to sing and shared her talent at the churches she attended.

Surviving Evelyn are her husband Bill Harman, Union, daughters Penny (Raymond) McDonald, Three Rivers, Mary (James) Rowley, North Carolina; sons Mark (Mary) Harman, Bristol, IN, Tommy (Gina) Harman, Tim (Pam) Harman, both of Union, Steve (Peggy) Harman, Edwardsburg, 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Judy Clark, son Tom Clark and daughter in law Rosalee Clark, 2 grandchildren Faye Ort and Rebeckah Harman, sister Marjorie Patterson and brother Frank O’Shea.

Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 5 – 8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be 11 am Wednesday at Chapel Hill Missionary Church with Pastor Ken Bontrager officiating. Interment will be in Plum Grove Cemetery, Porter Twp., MI.
