Man arraigned following murder

A Battle Creek man has been officially charged with shooting and killing his girlfriend. 27-year-old Richard Bozell was arraigned Monday on charges of open murder, habitual offender, felony firearm and possession of firearms by a felon. Bozell was arrested on Saturday night, just minutes after Tianna Hunt was removed from life support and died. The shooting happened on May 24th after the couple got into an argument at a party. Police believe Hunt left the party and Bozell tracked her down and shot the mother of his one-month old daughter once in the abdomen as she was running away from him. Hunt was taken off of life support on Friday and was pronounced dead Saturday night. Bozell faces up to life in prison. He’s being held without bond in the Calhoun County jail pending a preliminary hearing on June 12th.  (MRN)
