Man arrested after stabbing incident

Police from multiple agencies in Calhoun County responded when what officers describe as an argument between a man and his girlfriend, ended with a kidnapping and attempted murder. It happened shortly before 2am Friday in Emmett Township. Police say a man arguing with his girlfriend first attacked another woman in the house and then picked up a knife and stabbed his girlfriend and dragged her into the woods. Officers say a child was hiding in the back of the house and jumped through a window to call for help. Search dogs found the woman in the woods and she was taken for treatment of multiple stab wounds. The other victim was treated at the scene. Dog teams also found the 20-year-old suspect hiding in the woods and he was arrested and taken to the County Jail.  (MRN)
