Brown deliberations continue

Deliberations in the Andy Brown trial remain ongoing, as the 12-member jury has not yet reached a verdict. The eighth day of the trial Friday featured little action in Judge Paul Stutesman’s circuit court room. An evidence-related question by jurors brought them into the court at 1:30 p.m. Stutesman conferred with prosecutor John McDonough and defense attorney Michael Hills to review the written query. He then reminded jurors of the 13-page jury instructions that were covered in their entirety Thursday after closing arguments and McDonough’s rebuttal. Stutesman told jurors they need to refer to the jury instructions. The nine-woman, three-man panel returned to the jury room at 1:42 p.m. They had not reached a verdict by 5 o’clock, and were excused for the weekend and will return at 8 a.m. Monday to continue deliberations.
