The former administrative assistant for the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce was arraigned after she turned herself in Monday.
Bond for Deb Herring, 57, of Schoolcraft, was set at $10,000 personal recognizance by magistrate Mark Books. A warrant for her arrest was issued Wednesday last week after a charge of embezzlement was authorized by the county prosecutor’s office.
Herring allegedly stole between $20,000 and $50,000 from the chamber over the course of a seven-year period, according to county officials.
She is free on her own recognizance and will be represented by Three Rivers attorney Ron Grubbs.
