Three major road projects in St. Joseph and Cass counties will soon be taking place, as State Rep. Matt Lori has announced details of a transportation grant he helped secure.
The $3.5 million in grants will be used to improve a 4.6-mile section of M-60 in Cass County at the divided section east of Barron Lake Road. In addition, the stretch of U.S. 131 from Constantine north to M-60 will be improved through a mill-and-fill process. Also, another stretch of M-60 in Cass County will be improved through the mill-and-fill procedure.
Lori said the repairs are necessary, as the targeted areas have been neglected too long.
Funding for the three projects is in addition to more than $121 million from the state General Fund to fully match available federal transportation funds.
