Woman arrested after chase

An Indiana woman who was arrested after a police chase in April had her case bound over to Circuit Court last week by St. Joseph County District Judge Robert Pattison after a preliminary hearing.

Aubrey Ann Coy, 34, remains in the St. Joseph County jail with a $150,000 bond. Coy faces charges of fleeing and eluding, operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, possession of cocaine, child endangerment and three counts of resisting a police officer.

On April 13, Michigan State Police were notified by the Kosciosko County, Ind., Sheriff’s Department, which said Coy had abducted her 5-yearold daughter during a supervised visit.

Coy failed to stop for pursuing officers, prompting Constantine police to deploy stop sticks on U.S. 131. The chase ended on U.S. 131, north of Garber Road, when a second tire went flat.
