Evelyn Charlotte Caniff, age 97, of Three Rivers, died Friday, Aug.22, 2014 at Terry Graber’s home in Constantine. She was born in Midlothian, IL on Jan. 21, 1917 the daughter of Homer C. and Emma A. Hulbert. Evelyn was married to Albert R. Caniff on Jan 31, 1942 and they later made their home in Three Rivers. Evelyn was a caterer for many area weddings, parties, and business meetings. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Garden Club, and Grandmothers Club. She was an artist who loved to paint, and enjoyed her pets. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Albert R. (Denise) Caniff, Jr. of Gunnison, CO and Robert G. (Maria) Caniff of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Albert R. (Beth) Caniff III, Jamie (Heath) Haggerty, and Robert Caniff; great-grandchildren, Mabon Caniff, Kendall Haggerty, Bobby Caniff.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Rob Nystrom officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Three Rivers Health, Hospice.
