Herring case moves to Circuit Court

A Schoolcraft woman charged with embezzling from the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce waived her preliminary examination this week.

Deb Herring, who was relieved of her job as administrative assistant at the chamber earlier this year, declined a preliminary examination Tuesday. As a result, her case will move to Circuit Court and a trial date remains to be set.

Herring, 57, is charged with embezzling between $20,000 and $50,000 from the chamber over a seven-year period.

Herring is free on bond.
