Four arrested following robbery at Fairgrounds

Four men from Ohio are suspected of committing an armed robbery Monday at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds.

According to a media release from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, two vendors were robbed at gunpoint and tied up at 7:35 a.m. The victims were eventually able to free themselves, call for help and provide a description of the suspects.

Shortly after the incident was reported, a vehicle southbound on M-66 in Nottawa Township was stopped for a traffic violation just south of M-86.

The deputy noticed the four people inside the vehicle matched the description provided by the victims. The four men are awaiting arraignment on a charge of armed robbery.

A sheriff’s department official said one of the suspects might be related to one of the victims.
