Margaret VanZile, 89

Margaret L. (Sally) VanZile, 89, of Three Rivers, and formerly of Mottville Township, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at Riverview Manor in Three Rivers, following an extended illness.

She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Kalamazoo, a daughter of Andrew and Nina (Smith) Hesse. She was a lifelong homemaker. On Feb. 24, 1948, she married Harlan H. VanZile in Constantine.

Surviving are two daughters, Pat L. (David) Peters of Three Rivers and Marcia A. VanZile of White Pigeon; a son, Steven V. (Becky) VanZile of Sturgis; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew (Jean) Ness of Falls Church, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a half-brother, Kenneth Ball.

Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Graveside services will follow visitation at White Pigeon Township Cemetery, with Pastor Jerry Solis of Celebrate 1 Church of Sturgis officiating. Donations may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
