St. Joseph County Fair opening day well attended

Sunday’s opening day of the 164th St. Joseph County Grange Fair was met with strong attendance, fair officials said.

Though daily attendance figures are not released until the end of the week, fair officials said ideal weather and the novelty of opening day were factors in the strong attendance. In addition, the farm-truck pulls drew a large and supportive crowd to the grandstand for the afternoon attraction.

Today is Kids Day, as most districts in the county are off for at least a half or the full day in keeping with the tradition of Kids Day. Today’s showcase event is SJO Motocross at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.
