Two arrested following farm equipment theft

Two Three Rivers men allegedly involved in the theft of equipment from Corey Lake Orchards last week were taken into custody after they initially eluded police.

According to state police, Shannon David Kimble, 40, was arrested Tuesday night in a wooded area near Purgatory Road and Millers Mill Road in Constantine Township after a resident called 911 to report hearing Kimble and another man yelling in the woods.

The other man, a 37-year-old Three Rivers resident whose identity was not indicated in a department media release, was arrested later at his girlfriend’s residence in Marcellus. He was charged with felony parole violation, with additional charges pending.

Kimble faces three felony charges: larceny, receiving and concealing stolen property, and possession of meth.

Earlier in the day, the men allegedly fled from a vehicle and ran into the state game area along Purgatory Road.

Further investigation has linked the two to numerous breaking-and-entering incidents in St. Joseph County.
