Lawrence Duane “Bud” Parsons of Constantine died at home Oct. 5, 2014 after a brief illness. Bud was born on Oct. 2, 1928 to Duane and Lois (Churchill) Parsons. He is survived by his sons, Mike Parsons of Jones, Bernard, Ralph and Steven Parsons (Claudia Gadson fiancée), all of Constantine, and their mother, Shirley Parsons, also of Constantine. He has one grandson, Maxwell Pitcher of Duluth, Minn. Bud has one surviving sister, Bernadean (Jim) DeYoung of Valparaiso, Ind.; numerous nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Parsons, and son, Richard Parsons.
Bud attended Constantine High School and served in the US Army in 1954 to 1955. He spent his life farming; raising hogs, crops, vegetables and apples for Parsons Orchard. He also worked for 20 years at CMI Foundry in Bristol, Ind. In his later years, he helped his sons at the family farm. He enjoyed making “pets” out of his son’s cattle.
Per his wishes, he will not have funeral services and will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, contributions made to the charity of your choice in his name would be greatly appreciated.
