A former Constantine Public Schools administrator is taking on a high-profile position with a state education program.
Kristin Flynn, a Schoolcraft resident and former principal at Eastside Elementary, is resigning her position as Schoolcraft High School principal to take a post with Michigan Virtual University.
The 44-year-old Flynn, whose last day in Schoolcraft will be Oct. 31, said she will serve as director of curriculum and instruction of the Lansing-based MVU. The Internet-based program was established in 1998.
Though her new job will be in Lansing, Flynn said she will have the luxury of working from home a few days a week and spending more time with her family; she has children ages 14, 12 and 10 years.
Flynn, whose salary in Schoolcraft was about $89,000 a year, came to Schoolcraft in 2012 after serving three years as assistant superintendent of Gull Lake Community Schools. Prior to that, she spent seven years as principal at Eastside.
