Possible charges for two Three River police officers

Two Three Rivers police officers may face criminal charges after an alleged domestic dispute that occurred last month in Lockport Township.
The alleged incident is being investigated by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department. St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough said his office turned reports over to the Michigan Attorney General’s office, which will appoint a prosecutor to determine if charges will be filed.
The names of the officers were not released, pending the prosecutor’s findings.
The possible charges stem from an alleged confrontation at a Lockport Township home.
Three Rivers Police Chief Tom Bringman said his department was made aware of the incident and the investigation on Sept. 29.
He said the Three Rivers department will do a separate investigation to determine if any department rules and regulations were violated.
