Ron Stears, 75

Ronald D. Stears, age 75, of Constantine, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Constantine on March 12, 1939, a son of Cecil and Catherine (Bradford) Stears. Ron graduated from Constantine high School in 1957. On November 10, 1957 he married Patricia Milhahn at the Constantine Methodist Church. Ron was a lifelong farmer, retiring from the three generation Stears Family Centennial Farm in 2004. He was a member of the Constantine Co-Op Board and the Cushman Scooter Club. Ron was an avid football fan, and especially enjoyed watching his family at Constantine. 

Surviving Ron are his wife Patricia Stears; daughter, Kathleen (John) Carr; son Jeffery (Marilou) Stears, brothers, Jack (Marlene) Stears; Terry (Nancy) Stears; sister in law Joyce Stears, all of Constantine, brother in law Frank Lutz, White Pigeon, grandchildren Tara Stears, Holly (Daryl) Moore, Adam Carr, Eric Stears, and Seth Stears, great grandchildren Zaynne Wiseman, Jax Kline and Mason Moore, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Stears, brother James Stears, sister and brother in law Patricia (Kenneth) Middleton, and sister in law Judy Smith Lutz.

Relatives and friends will be received Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eley Funeral Homes in Constantine. Religious Services will be held at Constantine United Methodist Church Friday at 11 am with Reverend Scott Manning officiating. Interment will be at Constantine Township Cemetery.
