Sixth Street paving project begins today

The Three Rivers Department of Public Services has received confirmation that the Sixth Street asphalt mill and paving project will begin today.

Plans call to begin milling around 8:30 this morning. Milling is scheduled to be completed this afternoon and paving will be completed Tuesday.

This project includes the milling and paving of Sixth Street between South Main Street and the Sixth Street bridge. The schedule will change only in the event of significant rain today or Tuesday.

During the milling and paving project, the roadway will remain open to local traffic only. All other traffic should seek alternate routes.

In another road-related matter, East Street is scheduled for the final layer of asphalt paving Tuesday.
