Alice May Fairchild, age 69, of Colon, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at the Life Span Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.
Alice was born Nov. 28, 1944, in Battle Creek, a daughter to the late Rose V. Thomas.
On June 13, 1964, she married Gary C. Fairchild in Colon and he preceded her in death March 9, 1990.
Alice was a homemaker and had made her home in the Colon area most of her life and at the present address for the past 50 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Erick S. (Cheryl) Fairchild of Glenpool, Okla., Craig A. (Meg) Fairchild of Sherwood, and Daren D. Fairchild of Colon; seven grandchildren; one brother, Michael Cree of Franklin, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Eaton; and sister Marcia Rice.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. A graveside funeral service celebrating the life of Alice Fairchild will be Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon, with pastor Fred Goebert officiating.
If desired the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Alice to the Life Span Good Samaritan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
