William E. Esseltine went to be with the Lord on Nov. 23, 2014, surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 8, 1941, at Three Rivers Hospital, to William H. and Edna (Hackenburg) Esseltine).
Bill was raised in Colon and lived in Sturgis most of his married life. On Aug. 18, 1963, he married Linda Ackerman.
He worked as an accountant for 37 years at Kirsch. After retirement, he worked at Lake Area Christian School for a short time and went toWalmart, where he enjoyed being a greeter for about 10 years.
Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and the Detroit Tigers.
He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Esseltine; two sons, Brett Esseltine and Kurt (Barbara) Esseltine; and grandchildren Alicia and Gabe Esseltine; a brother, Richard Esseltine; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at LaGrange First Church of God.
