Branch County man charged with attempted murder

A Branch County man has been charged with attempted murder following an attack on his brother Sunday in Sturgis Township.
Sheriff’s Department officials said Daniel Thomas, 49, of Bronson was charged with attempted murder following a Sunday evening incident in the 70000 block of Balk Road. Thomas was arrested after an argument with his brother, Randy Thomas.
Officials said Daniel Thomas was charged additionally with first-degree home invasion, assault with a dangerous weapon, fleeing a police officer, felony firearms, carrying a concealed weapon, discharge of a firearm in a building, and two counts of resisting and obstructing an officer.
Thomas was arraigned Monday and remains in the county jail.
