Harold Hershberger, 76

Harold D. Hershberger, 76, of White Pigeon, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at his home. He was born May 18, 1938, in Bristol, Ind., a son of Harold R. and Viola (Gooch) Hershberger. He was a resident of Bristol, Mottville and White Pigeon all his life.

Harold worked many jobs including Auto Mechanic, Shipshewana Pallets, Alcona Homes, United Express Line and in 1997 retired from Southwest. He was a justice of the peace in Mottville, enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, traveling, motorcycle rides and golfing. He was a professional tinker and inventor.

Surviving are three daughters, Christine (Dan) Yarnall of Union, Linda (Ken) Allen ofMottville and Stacy (Carlton) Wurmnest of Jones; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Dave) Eymer ofMission, Texas, and Tanice (Dan) Lehman of Goshen; a brother, Wayne (Brenda) Hershberger) of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; a companion Donna Frasier of White Pigeon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a great-granddaughter, OrchidMcCammen.

Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Mottville Community Church, with Pastor David Bell officiating. Interment will be inMottville Township Cemetery. Donations may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
