Mendon Kiwanis Showboat set to entertain

The 58th Mendon Kiwanis Showboat begins its three-day run tonight.
The theme this year is “School Daze,” which will lead to plenty of skits and jokes following a school theme, event organizers said.
The Showboat is a musical and comedy presentation made up of a cast of about 50 local residents.
Pat Tompkins, who is heading this week’s production, said the program will be a nostalgic experience, with musical selections dating to the 1950s.
The show, which runs about two hours, starts at 7:30 p.m. and runs nightly through Saturday in the Mendon Elementary gymnasium. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
All proceeds benefit the Mendon Kiwanis Club, which provides a number of scholarships to Mendon High School seniors and aids the community in other ways.
