Three of the four St. Joseph County-based high school football playoff teams bowed out over the weekend in pre-district action.
A failed extra point doomed Three Rivers Friday, as the Wildcats fell to Vicksburg, 14-13, in Division 4 action. The game was marred by strong, cold winds that had a negative impact on both teams, according to coaches.
On Saturday, Constantine was beaten at home by Schoolcraft, 45-28, in a Division 6 contest.
Also Saturday, Mendon topped Colon, 49-8, in Division 8 play. The 8-and-1 Hornets move on to a District matchup and will host 9-and-1 Climax-Scotts for the fourth consecutive year in District action.
Though the location of the game is known, whether it is played Friday night or Saturday afternoon has not yet been determined by the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
