The Three Rivers Police Department has issued a media release in an effort to clarify what was originally believed to be a potential abduction attempt.
Chief Tom Bringman said the incident originated Wednesday last week in the 500 block of South Constantine Street. It was originally classified as a suspicious situation.
Bringman said a resident asked a group of children about hiring them to rake his yard. A caller brought the matter to the attention of police after misunderstanding the man was merely seeking the aid of the children.
Bringman said the caller had erroneous information and nothing malicious or inappropriate occurred.
