Sue M. Messer, 99, of Sturgis, and formerly of Columbus, Ind., died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Thurston Woods Village, following an extended illness.
She was born April 11, 1915, in Lincoln County, Ky., to Tyler and Sallie (Adams) Messer. She was a Sturgis resident since 2011, coming from Columbus, Ind., to be near her niece Judy McCarrel.
She was employed in the bookkeeping department of First National Bank of Columbus for 24 years and retired in 1980 and was a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by two nieces and a nephew; and was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; a brother; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. today at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services are at 11:30 a.m. with Chaplain Glenn Russell of Thurston Woods Village officiating. Interment will take place in Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, Ind.
