Velma L. Pierce, age 86, formerly of Three Rivers, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 in Olathe, Kansas. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 22, 1928 the daughter of the late Glenn and Emma (Hemminger) Crawford. She was married to Robert Pierce on Aug. 12, 1946 in Kalamazoo. They made their home near Fisher Lake where Velma was a homemaker and also worked at the Haas Corporation, later known as Lear Plastics in Mendon. She was a former member of the Three Rivers Eagles Auxiliary.
Velma is survived by a son, Terry (Jean) Pierce of Olathe, KS; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her son Larry Pierce.
Cremation was conducted in Olathe, KS. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday Dec. 6, 2014 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial services will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home followed by interment in South Park Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Velma Pierce may be directed to your favorite charity.
