William G. Willer, 75, of White Pigeon, Mich., died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at his home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1939, in Sturgis, Mich., to Harry and Leone ( Robertson) Willer. He was a Sturgis and White Pigeon area resident all of his life. He attended Michigan State University and was an avid fan of Michigan State sports. He was a member of the Sturgis Eagles, was a NASCAR fan and he enjoyed sports, his neighbors and their children.
His employment included being the manager of The Willer’s Shoe store, which was started by his family. He was owner of the Big Dipper Ice Cream Shop in Sturgis and was employed by American Electric Power.
He is survived by two daughters, Lori ( Kevin) Kahila of Mattawan, Mich. and Cindi ( David) Woessner of Portage; a son, Michael ( Deborah) Willer of Stillwater, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Charles W. Willer of Sturgis. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Aaron Kahila.
Visitation is from 2- 4 p. m. and 6- 8 p. m. Wednesday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where services will be held at 1 p. m. Thursday with the Rev. Steve Nichols, of the Berean Baptist Church in Portage, officiating. Interment will take place in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
