Bob Johnson, 63

Robert William Johnson, age 63, of Vicksburg, died peacefully in the presence of his family on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 following a long illness. He was born in Three Rivers on May 28, 1951 the son of Herbert and Veronica (Huntowski) Johnson. Bob graduated from Mendon High School in 1969 and later attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He was a devoted and loving father, brother, and uncle. He loved spending time with his son, sisters, and family. He was a musician who loved Rock & Roll music, the guitar, and keyboard, and enjoyed jamming with various bands. He enjoyed sports cars and working on them with his son. He loved taking care of his home and animals. He enjoyed golf and going to ballgames with his best friend, Mike Samson and working out at the gym. Bob was a Tool and die maker and a Cutter Grinder and had worked at National Water Lift, American Axel, and most recently at International Auto Corp (IAC)in Mendon.

Bob is survived by his son, Robert Colin Johnson (Amanda Ibison) of Vicksburg; two sisters, Linda (Ken) Smith of Scotts and Laurie (Doug) Phelps of Delton; five nieces, Brandi (Justin) Racz, Lyndsey (Daniel) Beckmann, Melissa Phelps, Hiliary Phelps, and Cara Phelps; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son’s mother, Deborah Jenuwine; and a nephew, Ryan Osborn.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial services will be 4 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 6, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Clint Zehr officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Colin Johnson Education Fund, being established at PNC Bank in Vicksburg. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
