Mrs. Jeanne (Broker) Susemihl, age 93, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28th, 2014 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Colon, MI. on April 6, 1921 the daughter of the late Fred and Fay (Wyant) Broker.
Jeanne graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1939 and went on to St. Camillus School of Nursing at Borgess Hospital, graduating in 1943. Following graduation, she enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps and served in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II. On Dec. 2, 1947 she was united in marriage to Mr. Harry F. Susemihl. Together they moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1950 where they lived for 33 years, returing to Michigan when Harry was nearing retirement. Her greatest pleasure was time spent with family and friends.
Mrs. Susemihl was preceded in death by her husband, one son, John C. Susemihl, and one brother, Jack Broker.
Mrs. Susemihl is survived by her loving children, two daughters, Susan Harrison, and Barbara (Dick Wheelright) Chenault, one son, James (Ann) Susemihl; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Susemihl will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 3rd, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Lakeside Cemetery, Colon, MI. with Pastor Karlene Kinker of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Following graveside services family and friends are invited for a celebration of Jeanne’s life at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Three Rivers.
