John E. Middling, 67, of Constantine, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Heartland Health Center in Three Rivers.
He was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Sturgis, Mich., the son of John and Betty (Kindig) Guipe and was adopted by Harry and Drucela (Webber) Middling. He attended White Pigeon Schools and lived in the Constantine and White Pigeon areas all of his life.
Employed as a designer and cabinet maker in the recreational vehicle industry, John was a member of the Three Rivers Eagles and enjoyed fishing, camping, music and hunting with his sons. He also played in local bands. He was a member of the White Pigeon Church of Christ.
He married Christine E. Steiner on Dec. 12, 1964, in Three Rivers. She survives, along with her daughter, Sonyia JoMiddling Arnold of White Pigeon; two sons, John L. (Linda) Middling of Constantine and Cory L. (Teresa) Middling of Ishpeming; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy (John) Reid of Niles, Janet (Rich) Brown of Lynchburg, Va., and Sue (Richard) Wagner of White Pigeon; brother, Rick Guipe of Niles; mother, Betty Christ of Niles; and son-in-law, Rolland L. Arnold. He was preceded in death by his father and adopted parents.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the White Pigeon Church of Christ with the Pastor Barry Edds officiating. Interment will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
