St. Joseph County administrator Pat Yoder has recommended a Mendon woman to fill the role of county human resources director.
During Wednesday’s committee-of-the-whole meeting, Yoder nominated Teresa Doehring to fill the position left vacant since last month. Elishia Arver stepped down from the post to take a human resources job in the private sector.
Yoder said the committee – which includes the county’s five commissioners – agreed to bring the matter to the board’s meeting Tuesday next week, when Doehring is expected to be confirmed the recipient of the job.
Doehring currently serves as human resources director of Heritage Community of Kalamazoo, a senior-living facility. She previously was a benefits specialist for Western Michigan University, Yoder said.
Her starting pay will be $65,000 annually and she begins Jan. 6.
