Varetta Powers, 84

Varetta M. Powers, age 84, of Marcellus, MI passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 29, 2014.
She was born April 22, 1930 the daughter of Earl and Jenni (Schmidt) Copenhaver. Her husband Robert Powers of 65 years, preceded her in death on November 21, 2014.
Varetta served on several community boards. She enjoyed her lawn, garden and traveling with her granddaughter Shana and watching her show her horse. Her life was wonderful and very full.
Surviving is one son, Phillip “Pepper” Powers of Mattawan, MI; one daughter Tonya (Michael) Brown and granddaughter Shana Jo of Grand Blanc, MI along with her beloved dog Holly. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty and brother Rex.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 P.M. Friday, January 2, 2015 in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
Memorial services will be held at 4:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Hudson Memorial Building or she asked that you plant a tree or flowers in her honor.
