Zoning designations changed for 2 Constantine parcels

The Constantine Village Council last week changed zoning designations for parcels at 420 and 460 E. Second St. from residential to industrial.
Michigan Milk Producers Association has a sales agreement pending to purchase the properties in order to construct an employee parking lot.
Station Street residents Justin and Mollie Kent said they were worried about having a parking lot next to them. They also asked if at some point MMPA might wish to purchase their property.
MMPA plant supervisor Marc Hopkins said there is intent to expand, but not in the immediate future. He said the new parking lot will serve as supplemental parking.
Nearly $10 million is being invested in MMPA and Foremost Farms USA dairy cooperatives, following a July 30 alliance.
