Donald Clipfell, 79

Donald E. Clipfell, 79, of White Pigeon, died on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at his home following a short illness.

He was born on April 1, 1935 in Three Rivers the son of Wyman and Ruth (Pridgeon) Clipfell. Graduate of Three Rivers High School in 1953.

Resident of White Pigeon since 1959 coming from Marcellus. Employed as a machinist for Continental Can in Three Rivers for 25 years, and Burr Oak Tool in Sturgis for 10 years.

Member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Pigeon, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, past member of the Three Rivers Eagles and Elks Lodge, past member of the White Pigeon Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, mushroom hunting, grilling, and cooking holiday meals, and fishing. Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survived by his wife, Darlene R. (Jarmy) Clipfell whom he married on Feb. 15, 1958 in Decatur; his children, Michael (Christine) Clipfell of Sturgis, Wanda (Rick) Nihart of White Pigeon, Angie (Rex) Clute of Elmira, Mich. and Thomas (Tina) Clipfell of Caledonia; grandchildren, Lindsay, Michelle, Derek, Ryan, Haley, Grant, Olivia, Addison and Breton; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Philip and Loring; sister, Barbara.

Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon; services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Pigeon; interment will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or American Diabetes Association.
