Earl D. Couch, 58, of Niles, Mich., and formerly of Constantine, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 25, 1956, in LaGrange, Ind., the son of Henry E. and Sylvia M. (Pridgeon) Couch.
On Nov. 1, 1986, he married Diana L. Carpenter in Sturgis, Mich. She died Nov. 30, 1995. He then married JaniceWoolverton and they were later divorced.
A Niles resident since 1995, coming from Constantine, he was a truck driver for North American Forest Products of Edwardsburg, RobertWeed Plywood of Bristol, Ind., and P&P Trucking of Constantine. He attended Mason Baptist Church and was a member of the South Bend RC Plane Club. He enjoyed flying his model planes, small engine repairs, fishing, boating and go- carts.
He is survived by his son, Casey E. (Jessica N.) Couch of Niles; mother, Sylvia M. Couch of Howe, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Couch of LaGrange, Ind. and Paula (Royal) Wessels of Sturgis; one brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Couch of Tuscon, Ariz.; three grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; step children, Brian, Todd and Andy Brouse, Kerri, Jody, Kelly, and Traci Woolverton and Kim Shively; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and father.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon where services are at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Greg Long, pastor of the Sturgis Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will take place in Peek Cemetery in Florence Township.
